Firstly sorry about the photo. As it's for the survey can I bother you once more with this micro. I've come up with Cochylis atricapitana but I know it's not a great picture. Thanks for any feedback.
Hawthorn Moth (Scythropia crataegella) I'd say. Cochylis atricapitana has a black head hence its species name, so it's a fairly distinct one among some similar species.
Thanks Marc, I must book myself on a latin course which it seems can be a help. Also inattention to detail, as I skipped by the Ermines without noticing it lurking.
:) not sure you need to go on a course, you tend to pick these things up as you go along, but yes, knowing the latin can be very useful. Probably need to go on a greek course as well though :)
