Not a moth but...

...can anyone tell me what this is; a friend sent the pic from her mum's farm near Aylesbury.

    That's the wondrous Birch Sawfly. Very jealous as still never seen an adult myself. Awesome! Bw, Marc

    I see Marc has beaten me to it as that was to be my suggestion as well (Cimbex femoratus). I've never seen it either!

    Thanks both! I keep getting sent pics by friends of stuff I've never seen, so it's almost nice to know that there are also things the likes of both of your good selves have never seen as well :)
