IDs please

A couple of tired looking moths.

For the first I thought a dark Carcina quercana but then thought maybe a heavily marked Aleimma loeflingiana.

The next I thought originally a worn Cabbage moth - then I thought maybe Common Rustic agg.?

    Hi Steve, your top moth is Aleimma loeflingiana. They are quite variable in markings.

    Hi Mark,
    Aleimma loeflingiana is correct, they do vary quite a ,ot as to the intensity of their markings. Not sure about the noctuid, especially with no indication of size, but why did you rule out Cabbage? There should be a noticeable difference in size between Cabbage and Common Rustic (and it is early yet for the latter).

    I felt it was more Cabbage moth size. I've had 2 Common Rustics agg. already last week.
