Bit of an upturn...

I can't say numbers of moths are especially overwhelming in Wolvercote at the moment, but we've had some nice firsts for the year of late, and a continuing impression that species are earlier than usual. So over three days, we've had a couple of Waved Umbers, a Pale Tussock, a Yellow-barred Brindle, a V-Pug and several carpets, as well as a Notocelia cynosbatella. On the other hand, we've had no more than a dozen or so individuals on any one night, and I'm looking forward to the first really chaotic night of the year - won't be for some weeks yet, I suspect.
