More Burial Park Moths

The moth numbers and species are starting to improve at CWBP with a few in and around the 6W trap and buildings this morning: Peppered Moth, Brown Silver-line, Phyllonorycter harrisella, Maidens Blush, Epinotia immundana and Barred Hook-tip were all new for the year, in addition to the following pug, which I'm thinking may be Oak Tree Pug, but I would appreciate a second opinion.

There's a trap out there again tonight, so hopefully more to report tomorrow...

  1. Hi Dave,

Dwarf Pug I'd say. BW, Marc

  2. I agree, that looks far more like Dwarf Pug. It is around this time of year that I give up pronouncing on most Pug photos, though. There will very soon be too many out there to choose from - if you want to be sure of a record the answer is to get them dissected!

  3. Thanx, both. Having looked at pics of Dwarf, it does look good! That's another species new for the site.

    Cheers

  4. Oh no it's not. Yours is the 5th record. Tori has recorded it twice.
