Confirmations Please

Most of these are from Saturday night, I trapped in another part of the garden and I think got in order; Pempelia formosa, Celpha lacunana, a Common Plume (seems more marked than those in the books - it was 28 mm wingspan), and possibly a Double Square Spot.

I decided to give it a rest but got more or less buzzed by a moth in the bathroom as I was getting ready for bed. I think it's a Broad Bordered White.

  1. All correct, Mark, although the final moth would probably prefer to be called by its proper name, Broad-barred White! Triple-spotted Clay is far less common than Double Square-spot but still worth looking out for by checking the hind-wings of any candidates.
