Bedtime

It's Lights Out at the Thrupp School for Emperors where spinning cocoons has recently been the order of the day. All being well, the two above will wake up next Spring in Devon where they've gone with an enthusiastic cousin. If anyone would like any of the others, please let me know. The trap continues very busy with last night's new arrivals for the year including the companionable Yellow-tail and Ruby Tiger shown below as well as that beautiful moth, the Dark Arches.

I wonder if others are finding that old faithfuls also continue to come in good numbers; in the case of my Robinson trap, Buff-tip, Pale Prominent and Poplar, Privet and both Elephant Hawks are all regulars. Mother of Pearl is meanwhile by far the most numerous visitor.  Martin Wainwright, Thrupp, Oxon
