Ups and downs

I imagine the last week or so here in Wolvercote, Oxon, has mirrored what happened elsewhere: quite a spike on 4th and 5th September (almost 200 individuals on the first night), and a fall-off since, with last night in particular feeling autumnal. And, of course, Large Yellow Underwings and Square-spot Rustics really coming into their own... We've recorded both species of Copper Underwing (I'm pretty confident of IDing them when I can catch them), and as well as some typical autumn species (Dusky Thorn, Centre-barred Sallow), we're getting a few summer species indulging in a second brood - a rather handsome Heart and Dart in the trap this morning came as a surprise.

There are a few queries from the last week below - as ever, any confirmation or suggestions would be much appreciated. First of all, a rather poorly-marked pug, which could be a Currant Pug; what I suspect might be an earlyish Chestnut (unless it's another Square-spot Rustic); an individual which turned up on two consecutive nights, looking like a Common Wave, but with the dots on the hindwing suggesting something more like a Lesser Cream Wave (except it's surely too late for that?); a presumed Acleris rhombana; a presumed male Bulrush Wainscot; and a Caloptilia species of some sort, 7-8mm long.
