Ectoedemia heringella
I found a Holm oak in Oxford yesterday with every leaf mined by Ectoedemia heringella. Can others be convinced that Phyllonorycter messaniella is also present?
I can only see heringella there, Ched, but I imagine Phyllonorycter messaniella will have been somewhere on the tree. Back on 25th February I looked at three young holm oaks in a park at Goose Green, Wolvercote and the leaves there were also covered in heringella mines.
Just took a sample of Holm Oak leaves from obviously infected trees in Buckland, Oxfordshire this morning - absolutely riddled with heringella but nothing else in the small sample of 15 leaves.
