A Bit Better in Oxford

With some better weather at last I put the trap out again for the first time in a week the night before last. I was rewarded with a good catch by my standards of 29 months including a few I can't ID or need confirmation on (see below). Since I last posted I've added a few more to my year list: Cabbage, Angled Shades, Button Snout, Heart & Dart, Willow Beauty, Currant Pug, Udea Olivalis, Marbled Minor Agg, Mottled Pug and Tachystola acroxantha. My year list total is now standing in the mid fifties (sadly that's what my garden is like!) but interestingly is still ahead of the total at the same date for 2013 which set my record year list total of 230. Let's hope for some more settled warm weather for June.

A rather faded Diamond-back Moth?
Rather worn but any suggestions?
I'm completely stumped by this rather attractive micro which I thought would be straight-forward to ID
This Pug is rather worn but there's probably enough on one wing to ID it. I'm guessing Grey Pug

  1. The third micro is Cork Moth, Nemapogon cloacella.

  2. Second could be Notocelia cynosbatella

  3. Hi Adam, the micros are Plutella xylostella, Epiblema/Notocelia cynosbatella (remnants of yellow face/palps just about visible) and Nemapogon cloacella. I think the pug is probably beyond a safe ID!

  4. Thanks very much for your comments. I don't know how I missed the Cork Moth!
