Moth eaten

Normally I wouldn't persevere but I'm doing this weeks GMS survey and am doing my best to be comprehensive and not make false sightings,
Gypsy Moth?
???
Wainscot? (FW15mm)
Thankyou for your indulgence.

  1. Steve, I think the first one might be a Mottled Rustic - but wait for others to confirm.

  2. Speaking as a non-expert I'd say Mottled Rustic for the first and Wax moth for the second.

    1. I'd go along with that too, and the third looks to me like a worn Clay.

  3. Many thanks one and all. It's really useful when you have a pretty worn specimen to go back to the books and look at the faint marks where the mint markings would have been, as in the case particularly of the Clay.
