Palpita vitrealis?

The Moth God or Goddess must have known it is my birthday this week because this was waiting for me last night on the outside of my Skinner Trap in Newport Pagnell and even before lighting up time. I do have 2 records for 2006 for Palpita unionalis so have those taxonomy boys been at work since?  Goater in British Pyralid Moths describes unionalis as "unmistakeable".  I hope he is right.

  1. Hi Gordon, indeed it is the same species (formerly Palpita unionalis) and what an excellent record. Looks like this is the fourth Bucks record, three of them attributable to you!

    Oh, and Many Happy Returns!!
