Westcott, Bucks

The garden actinic at Westcott was underwhelmed with moths last night (66 moths of 30 species) and I suspect tonight's result will be even poorer!  Still, new species continue to arrive and those added to the 2016 garden list over the past few nights have comprised Tinea semifulvella & Carcina quercana (16th June), Privet Hawk-moth (17th June) and Barred Straw & Small Angle Shades (18th June).

Three MV traps run in Bernwood Forest last night didn't break any records either with only about 60 species between them.  Tortrix viridana was about in some numbers (150+ seen) but there was little else of note apart from a single worn-out example of one of Bernwood's specialities, the decidedly uncommon Common Fan-foot.
