Pammene aurana

This moth seems to be having a good year at home in Somerset, but it was a surprise to come across it at Wheatley services on the M40 today...a hogweed-feeder, it is most often found on the flowerhead of the foodplant by day, and perhaps as a result I most often come across it when I am trying to record hoverflies.

In Bernwood Forest I found the leaf-mines of Caloptilia stigmatella, Phyllonorycter ulmifoliella, Stigmella lapponica and Stigmella salicis agg (the yet-unnamed species that lays its egg on the leaf underside).
