Help needed with some tricky micros

There were some tricky micros in my garden trap this week - well, tricky for me anyway.
I think this first one is Cochylis molliculana.

The next 2 I am struggling to identify.

Finally, a very lively micro that really didn't want its photo taken, and this is the best shot I have. I thought it might be Parectopa ononidis?

  1. Hi Steve, the first and second are Cochylimorpha straminea and Scythropia crataegella respectively. Nothing comes to mind immediately for the third, while I'd say that the fourth is definitely not Parectopa ononidis but if your moth has the same kind of resting posture and size then you are probably in the correct area (Gracillaria syringella springs to mind). It would need a better image to be sure.

    1. Many thanks Dave. I think I skipped past the Yponomeutidae section in the book, which is why I didn't spot the Scythropia. Having looked at the final micro again, I am confident that it is Gracillaria syringella.

  2. Hi Steve,

The third one is Lobesia littoralis. I posted one on here about a week or so ago and have had another one since + just saw a few at Dungeness so have got my eye in now ;)
