Mystery bedroom micro

I rescued the micro below from the bedroom curtains this afternoon (fw 5mm). Can anyone suggest what it might be? I know the picture quality is not great.

  1. Hi Steve, very difficult to be sure from that picture, but I'd hazard a guess at Mompha subbistrigella. Several of that family over-winter as adults and they can often be found indoors or in out-buildings at this time of year. I had a couple of bradleyi/jurassicella a week or so ago inside the house which are awaiting the chop and an epilobiella last night.

    1. Thanks Dave. Mompa subbistrigella is certainly a moth that I have recorded before at various times of the year.
