EMP success in Chalfont St Peter

It does work! I put the lure out at the Forester site in Chalfont Heights about 3.30 this afternoon. After half an hour 4 male Emperor moths turned up within the space of 5 minutes. I later put the lure out at my Parents house which is a little further west and got two again within a short space of time between them. - Would this be males from the same clutch being grouped together and getting the scent at the same time? or is this too much of leap?

  1. Hi Rob, well done! They might or might not have been from the same bunch (with the wind from the east today there's a good chance they could have been) but still worth recording from both sites. I'm REALLY pleased that you managed to find them in the final 10km square fully within Bucks with no previous records. Daves Morris and Ferguson therefore stand a good chance of seeing them locally too at some point in the future, although it is perhaps getting a little bit late in the Emperor season now for this year.
