Second Helpings

Two good moths appeared in last night's garden collection, both on only their second visits here.  The first was Scalloped Hook-tip (last seen in 2013) and the second was Dark Spinach (last seen in 2012).  Scalloped Hook-tip is relatively common in the local woods around here but, in Bucks at least, Dark Spinach is an uncommon species away from the south of the county.

I also had another five Lime-speck Pugs last night and one of them was a real runt with a forewing length of less than 8mm!

Another species seemingly doing rather well here just now is Gold Spot.  Eight of them came to light last night, more than I've ever had together before.  If only just one of them had instead been a Dewick's Plusia...
