Brick?
I was thinking I wasn't going to get one this year but I think what I first took to be a bigger worn Yellow-line Quaker this morning is actually a Brick? Can someone confirm?
The differences in what people catch is interesting. No Bricks here this year. I have been getting December moths regularly since 19th October and Feathered Thorn seem to be having a good year with 6 last night bringing the total to 49 so far. Still awaiting my first Winter moth of the year and hoping for a Scarce Umber.
Brick often goes on until mid-November here at Westcott and in 2015 I had a couple of them in two different areas of local woodland during the first week of December, so don't give up hope yet!
Hi Mark, yes that is indeed a Brick.
ReplyDeletethanks Dave. I think I'm now only waiting for a December and Winter moth to complete the year's list.
ReplyDeleteMark, down near Burnham I've only had one this year too, only my second in 8 years. Glad not everybody gets such amazing catches!

ReplyDeleteThanks Mark for sending that worn Brick over the road, it became my first of the year in last nights catch. 8 moths of 8 different species
ReplyDeleteSteve, I think we need to have one of those vacumn tube thingies old department stores used to have to send cash back and forth from the cashiers.
