Light Knot Grass?

This moth from last night has got me puzzled  -  possibly an Acronictinae species and my best guess would be the melanic form (Ab. suffusa) of the Light Knot Grass.  Hind wings are grey.  Comments welcomed!

Background is 5mm grid.  I have kept the moth in case it warrants further inspection.

  1. Ah yes, Chorleywood, well known for its bogs and moorland! It does look a good match for Light Knot Grass though, Richard, but perhaps someone who is familiar with the species might like to comment? Needless to say it would be a first for Bucks - please hang on to it!

  2. Yes, please keep it for me, it looks a lot darker than the Light Knot Grass I have seen
