Hello Steve, as I suspect you already know, the choice is between Monopis obviella and Monopis crocicapitella. In this particular case I think I'd want to see it looked at more closely because there's enough there to make it a candidate for crocicapitella, but even so mine nearly always turn out to be obviella which is by far the more common of the two!
Thank you Dave. After doing a little research as you note, I went back to the trap and as it was still there measured it at 8mm I'm afraid looking at it's hind wings was a nono. Out of interest we have recently had chickens next door!.
