Garden results have continued to be rather disappointing, both in terms of species and overall numbers.  The year-list has now crawled up to 282 species but that's 20 behind the same date for last year and there's little sign yet of things catching up.  Thanks to thundery rain moving up from the near Continent there was a slight improvement in the catch last night with 221 moths of 68 species altogether, although the norm has been for about half those numbers.  New arrivals over the past few days have comprised:

(13th)  Lyonetia clerkella, Archips podana, Dwarf Cream Wave, Lilac Beauty
(14th)  Eudonia mercurella, Plain Golden Y
(15th)  Enarmonia formosana, Anania fuscalis, Small Square-spot, Smoky Wainscot
(16th)  Bryotropha terrella, Clepsis spectrana, Clepsis consimilana, Eudonia lacustrata, Lackey, Barred
Straw, Mottled Beauty, Double Square-spot, Lychnis
(17th)  Paraswammerdamia nebulella, Beautiful Hook-tip
(18th)  Paraswammerdamia albicapitella, Hedya ochroleucana, Eucosma cana, Cydia pomonella, Eudonia
pallidaCrambus perlella, Homoeosoma sinuella, Common Footman, Heart & Club, Light Brocade,
            Light Arches, Small Dotted Buff

Clepsis spectrana, Westcott 16th June

Enarmonia formosana, Westcott 15th June

Lackey, Westcott 16th June

Smoky Wainscot, Westcott 15th June

Plain Golden Y, Westcott 14th June

Interesting that Hedya ochroleucana should appear here too last night (see Steve's post yesterday) as this is only the second record for my garden.  Heart & Dart was the most abundant species in the catch (68 individuals), followed by Middle-barred Minor (13), Common Swift (11) & Udea olivalis (10), but the majority arrived as singletons or pairs.
