A couple of micros for checking

There was quite a haul of micros to the garden trap on Saturday night. Here are a couple that I may have managed to identify.
The first moth I have posted 2 photos - one from the side and one from above. The fw measures 8mm, and I think it is Metzneria metzneriella? A moth I haven't recorded before.

The second moth is a small dark tortrix, with a fw of just 5mm. I thought it could be Endothenia ustulana?

  2. The two common Metzneria species (lappella and metzneriella) can be a nightmare to separate, Steve, so I'd recommend dissection as Peter says. I'd agree that the other one is Endothenia ustulana.

  3. Thanks Peter and Dave. I have retained both moths for checking.
