Queries from last weekend

I'd appreciate help with the IDs of these moths, some of whom are rather worn, from the 26th June.

A chrysoteuchia culmella?

A dark heart and dart or heart and club?

A worn heart and dart?

A eudonia lacustrata?

A garden rose tortrix?

A marbled minor?

An ostrinia nubilalis?

And I'm not sure about this one

Thanks, Jacqui

  1. Hello Jacqui,
Yes to Chrysoteuchia culmella, Heart & Club (I think), Heart & Dart and Eudonia lacustrata. The next isn't a micro and looks to me like a small Oligia (one of the Minors). Then you have a Marbled Minor agg (needs close inspection to determine which of Marbled/Tawny Marbled/Rufous it actually is). Of the final pair, you could well be correct with the first but it would need a better image to confirm, while the other is a Cnephasia which is unfortunately from another little group which needs close inspection to get to species.

  2. Thanks Dave. Slowly getting better with my IDs. I'm way behind you with species this year though - I've only ID'd 75 to the end of June. But I'm happy with that since I've only been trapping since Christmas and I am often only doing it one night per week.
