Plume Moth for ID
Hi
While in a village near Maidstone Kent I came across this moth and possibly a casing from which it may have emerged.
Has anyone any idea what it may be?
Iain
Not completely clear from that photo, Iain, but if it was taken in the last day or two then the moth is almost certainly going to be Emmelina monodactyla whose larvae feed on bindweeds. The leaf you are holding looks to me like hazel so will have no association with your moth other than that was where it happened to be resting.
