Hello Jo, The first is Argyrotaenia ljungiana. I rarely see the first brood (April-May) but get lots of the second brood (July-Aug). The other is an Elachista which looks to me like a male canapennella and I had my first of the year out here in Westcott last night too.
Canapennella, like a lot of other Elachistas have a much paller clasper area at the end of the abdomen. Invariably males caught, but if it's in a glass tube you may be able to see these fawn coloured tips and then you know more reliably it will be an Elachista of some sort. I agree with Dave, almost certainly canapennella.
