ID please (again!)

A chilly night in Aylesbury resulted in just 14 moths of 10 species. I know you are busy with your own traps, but can you help ID these please? I will probably kick myself when I find out what the first one is, it's so distinctive- but I've looked through 2 books and cant see it! Many thanks!

  1. Hi Jo,
The top photo is of Anania perlucidalis, a fairly common micro across Bucks and yet another species where the flight time seems to be creeping forwards. I had my first example this year on 19th May. The other two images show the very common Mompha subbistrigella. In the micro field guide the illustrations for this and the rather similar M.sturnipennella (which is very rare locally) are not as helpful as they could be!

  2. I went through Chris Manley twice and managed to miss it! Thank you for your help with these Dave.
