Nutmeg / Large Nutmeg?
Still slow here at the moment, first Heart & Dart last night, plus this moth. I thought at first Rustic Shoulder-knot but there is no black streak. So Nutmeg or Large Nutmeg?
Hello Mark, As already said above by Steve and Marc, that's Large Nutmeg. Nutmeg is a smaller, flimsier moth and the basic ground colour is usually greyish with a much more pronounced 'W' marking in the outermost band (its hairy eyes, common to others in the Hadeninae and visible with a hand lens, are also a give-away).
Had my first last night just over the road from you. I'm sure it's Large. I think I've only had Nutmeg a few times to the best of my knowledge.
