Completely stumped!

Hi all. Help please ! I can't get anywhere near hazarding a guess at this micro despite repeated examination of Sterling and Parsons. It was fairly small - probably 6-7 mm long - and I am sure I have never seen anything like it before in the trap. It flew off before I could get a side view, but it sat fairly flat on the posing log and I am pretty sure it did not have any dorsal scale tufts. As you can see it does have prominent labial palps.

  1. Hi Alistair, it looks like Anarsia innoxiella to me.

    1. Yes thankyou - just been identified as that as well on Twitter. No wonder I couldn't find it in Sterling and Parsons - it's not in there!
