I had a reasonably good catch on Friday night in Wolvercote, Oxfordshire, in the high temperatures we had then; and one individual that's been baffling me since then - a very small micro, which looks like a
Phyllonorycter of some sort, but if that's what it is, its markings are rather unusual. Any suggestions as to what it is would be very welcome!

Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteIt is a Phyllonorycter but the picture is rather too over-exposed to be sure of the species. It will be something like tristrigella, froelichiella or nicellii.
Thanks, Dave: this will have to be one that got away... I've just learnt a lot in a short time about just how many Phyllonorycter species there are...
