Dissection results

When I posted this photo back on 18th June there were various suggestions as to its identity.  It turns out to be Tineola bisselliella Common Clothes Moth (a new garden and house! record) confirmed by dissection.

Other micros recorded this year new for the garden and now confirmed or identified by dissection (thanks again to Peter for his efforts) were:

Argyresthia spinosella
Bucculatrix albedinella
Bucculatrix bechsteinella
Capua vulgana
Coleophora glaucicolella
Epinotia rubiginosana
Mompha epilobiella
Pammene suspectana (8 to FUN lure)
Phyllonorycter tristrigella
Stigmella incognitella

  1. Hi Andy,
That's a nice record (well, potentially not so nice really!). I've had pellionella a few times here but not bisselliella. There are one or two other nice finds on your list which also haven't yet made my garden: Capua vulgana, Epinotia rubiginosana and Pammene suspectana. Perhaps I ought to invest in more of those tortrix lures...
