Finishing off the garden activity for June, here are the results from the last full week and final couple of days up until the end of the month:

     (22nd)  18 moths of 14 species; nothing new for the garden year-list, a very cold night producing probably my worst result ever for the second half of June (those 18 moths were between two traps!).  

     (23rd)  98 moths of 57 species; Carcina quercana, Metzneria sp (retained), Scrobipalpa costella, Ancylis achatana, Dwarf Cream Wave, Light Arches & Plain Golden Y all new for the year.

     (24th)  163 moths of 77 species; Blastobasis lacticolella, Blue-bordered Carpet, Clay, Smoky Wainscot & Rustic all new for the year.

     (25th)  152 moths of 67 species; Sloe Pug & Lesser Yellow Underwing both new for the year.

     (26th)  175 moths of 74 species; Bryotropha terrella, Calamotropha paludella, Large Twin-spot Carpet, Short-cloaked Moth & Dewick's Plusia all new for the year.

     (27th)  163 moths of 71 species; Archips crataegana, Grapholita lobarzewskii (retained), Common Emerald, Scalloped Oak & Dingy Shears all new for the year. 

     (28th)  159 moths of 63 species; Teleiodes vulgella, Rhodophaea formosa, Blotched Emerald, Scarce Footman, Fan-foot & Double Square-spot all new for the year.

     (29th)  115 moths of 49 species; Notocelia roborana, Phycitodes binaevella & Yellow Shell all new for the year.

     (30th)  154 moths of 73 species; Batrachedra praeangusta, Aethes beatricella, Hedya salicella, Epinotia tenerana, Eucosma obumbratana, Ephestia woodiella, Udea prunalis, Lilac Beauty & Swallow-tailed Moth all new for the year.

The additions last night (30th) take me up to 340 species on the garden list for 2021.  That total was reached on 14th June last year so things are still just over a couple of weeks and more than 100 species behind where they should be.

There was nothing really unexpected amongst the new arrivals, although Aethes beatricella has only been seen here twice before (in 2015 & 2017) and the Dewick's Plusia is only the second garden example following one in September 2019.
