Sitochroa?
I think this is Sitochroa verticalis, which would be a Stoke Goldington garden first. I would be interested to know its overall Bucks status (if I haven't got it horribly wrong!).
Hi Keith, Yes, that's Sitochroa verticalis (your image shows very well the contrasting bands on the hind-wings). By co-incidence I had one in Bernwood Forest last night and in past years it has appeared a couple of times in the garden here. However, the records for Bucks remain in single digits so it is a rare moth in the county.
