Scrobipalpa ocellatella?
I think this is Scrobipalpa ocellatella - I've had it now about 6 times but this is the first time I've been able to get a photo. Can someone confirm from a photo or does it need dissection?
I’d accept that as ocellatella just from the photo. It is a well-marked species (unlike a lot of other Scrobipalpa spp) and variation seems to be slight. It is also having an exceptional season and really could turn up anywhere in our area. Cheers, Dave Wilton
Looking forward to the response Mark since I’ve just pulled 5 of these out of the trap and I’m only 3 egg boxes in!

ReplyDeleteRussell again, never seen one before but ended up with 15 ‘beet moths’ - that’s some influx!
