Pinion-spotted Pug

A Pinion-spotted Pug trapped last night at North Leigh, Oxon.

Also, the micro moth below which I'm pretty sure is Ypsolopha mucronella .....

  1. Hi Nic,
Pinion-spotted Pug, one of the smartest-looking members of that family (and easily recognisable) thankfully seems to be undergoing a bit of a revival in our area. The on-line Atlas suggests it is still a good record for VC23 though! The micro is definitely Ypsolopha mucronella, one of only a couple of Ypsolopha species which over-winter.
