Trying to sort out my waves here. I have a bad photo from a few days back that I've put down as Common Wave, and this morning I'm thinking I've got a Common White Wave...but maybe just another Common Wave? Anyone can confirm?

Correct, Mark. On Common Wave the speckling and forewing cross-bands are usually brownish (and the bands curved) while those on Common White Wave are usually blackish (and the bands more or less parallel).
