I hung a pheromone trap with MYO lure on our apple tree this morning. So far it has brought in 6 Red-belted Clearwings.

High species counts and more clearwings
Marc Botham and I recorded 215 species (and counting) at Boze Down near Whitchurch on Saturday night, with 5 Robinson MV and an actinic. Highlight was probably Kent Black Arches (3). Mid to late summer species have converged with spring ones, as sometimes happens whne you get a cold spring then suddenly a heatwave, especially at this warm south-facing site. E.g. we saw Oak-tree Pug alongside Common Rustic sp. and Brown-line bright-eye.
