Marlow Bottom July 5th

A reasonable species count for here last night, with 80+, but very few noctuid species and I've only had a handful of hawkmoths so far.

Two new micros for the garden were Falseuncaria ruficiliana and Pammene fasciana

It was also pleasing to get another example of the nationally scarce Altenia scriptella following one a couple of years ago.

And Recurvaria nanella has started to appear again.

  1. Hi Adam,
That's a very nice selection. I had Altenia scriptella for the first time ever on a visit to Homefield Wood recently and even with your record from last night you can still count those seen in Bucks on the fingers of one hand. It seems to be a Marlow speciality.

  2. Would be nice to get an example onto the Moth Dissection website Adam of scriptella, if you could keep one please....or a male and female.
