Two more Pugs

Last night's collection of garden moths included two new Pug species for the year, White-spotted and Ochreous.  The White-spotted Pug was fairly typical of those I get here in that it wasn't all that well marked on its wings although the spots in the trailing corner of both the fore-wing and hind-wing were reasonably clear.  The white spot on the thorax was not that obvious but those on either side of the abdomen were certainly visible.  Ochreous Pug is usually fairly easy to tell with its pointy wings, sandy ground colour and with few obvious markings apart from the large smudge of a black discal spot.

I'm still getting Brindled Pug and Oak-tree Pug here too, both putting in an appearance again last night.  Other species new for the year were Celypha lacunana, Seraphim and Turnip.
