Rusty-dot Pearl

Quite pleased to see this migrant at the trap last night in V23. A new species for the garden. Not entirely sure of its status in Oxon....

  1. Hi Nic,

Like any migrant it is one of those species which could turn up anywhere. Of the micro migrants the most abundant species in my Bucks garden is Plutella xylostella (Diamond-back Moth), then come Nomophila noctuella (Rush Veneer) and Udea ferrugalis (Rusty-dot Pearl). It is rare for any of them to miss a year here and they usually make multiple visits, so I'm sure you'll be seeing ferrugalis again.
