Box Moths

Just wondering if anyone has had any success in deterring these?

We've got quite a lot of Box which is under attack at the moment. Due to the number of plants picking off the larva by hand isn't an option.

Thanks,

Nigel

  1. I had a large Box shrub which was pretty much defoliated in 2020. I didn't see the caterpillars at first and only saw the adult moths when I started trapping that year. I cut the shrub back hard and the leaves soon grew back. The moths might be less of a problem than box blight. I've trapped plenty of moths since but so far they haven't affected the shrub.

  2. You could try a pheromone trap - search for 'Box Tree Moth Trap' on Amazon
