On the night of 3rd November, this interesting Flame Shoulder dropped in, accompanied by a nice female Gem and beaten up
Udea ferrugalis. I think it could be a candidate for Radford's, going by the elongated shape, smallness of the stigmata, and extension of the black line beyond.

ReplyDeleteThat looks good for Radford's Flame Shoulder to me too. There have been a lot around and Robin Knill-Jones had one in the far south of the county a week or so back. If you are ever unsure, get the moth to open its wings and at the join between the thorax and abdomen there should be an area of white hairs.
I didn't know that. I'll have a look!
