Only two species in Maidenhead

I had my trap out for the first time this year in my Maidenhead garden and didn't have high hopes despite the mild conditions.
I could have done worse, but 2 Epiphyas postvittana and an Amblyptilia acanthadactyla was better than nothing.
I was surprised to also have a 20mm water beetle.

  1. That's one more moth than me in the garden - at Westcott I had to make do with Pale Brindled Beauty and Chestnut. Ten examples of the wasp Ophion obscuratus, though, meaning that there must be the same number of deceased noctuid larvae somewhere nearby!
