this moth of 01/07/23 in Penn. Initially thought although pic is in bad light etc that the relatively obvious black spots would clinch ID but it has remained elusive for me
My fullest of apologies. i am a fool. Thank you Andy, as you have i feel sure, correctly identified this for me. My mistake is forgetting that although i do not travel abroad with retentive traps (yet), I forgot I was on holiday in Corfu on the 01/07 for a week and had a rather reasonable small list from lit villa walls, of which this was one. It was near coast with reed marsh close by so does makes sense to me.
No problem. Not quite the same but when I trap elsewhere I always wonder what the chance is of bringing something home in the trap or the back of the car.
