Square Spot?

This specimen turned up this morning with the usual culprits - plus an early?  Muslin Moth.
Any help appreciated

Steve Lockey (Garsington)

  1. Thanks Peter, my other Garsington mother has already had a White-marked this Spring so maybe we have a small cluster up here?

  2. Hi Steve, that is indeed a rather worn male White-marked (rather than Small Square-spot which is what I assume your title refers to - Square Spot is another moth altogether!). Oxfordshire seems to be leading the way with White-marked so far this year! Mark (also Garsington) and Martin (Thrupp) have both had them. I've managed one so far, two nights ago, so it seems to be having a good year.
