COAM Leaf MIne

After Mr King's post the other day, I had a quick look at some of the Field Maple on the COAM site, and found this.

To my eyes, this does look like a mine of Stigmella aceris, but I would appreciate the opinions of those who know more about these things!

    It was at the farthest side of the site from Shire Lane (where Andy found his) and there is a lot of Field Maple in between so I wouldn't mind betting there will be more!

  3. Just wanted to add that I had another look at the mine today, and noticed that there were 2 more possible mines on the same tree, but not as long as the above one.

    By "tree", it is little more than a sapling, about 4ft tall...
