Pine Carpet

Nowhere near as common in our area as the books might suggest (in total there are only about 25 records of the species for VC24 Bucks), it was very nice to have a fresh Pine Carpet visit the garden actinic trap last night.  The species presumably manages to survive on garden or parkland trees locally because there are no nearby plantations of Scots Pine or Corsican Pine.  It has appeared in the garden twice before and I've also had it to light on the adjacent Rothschild estate at Waddesdon.
