Suddenly autumnal in Longwick

There was a noticeable change overnight in the species of moths - and a slight increase from yesterdays three moths in the trap!

The first Epirrita sp of the autumn arrived and also the first red- green carpet, green brindled crescent  and satellite. A nice sight was a pristine dotted chestnut.

There was also what appears to be a small , dark, gelechid which has a distinct pale mark on the costa at around 2/3 of the wing length. I haven't managed to photograph it yet but will investigate later.
