Sorry to be hopeless, but I cannot work out the ID of the moth above and would be grateful for help. A Flounced Rustic maybe, but I'm distracted by those two white marks above the pale blob. More challengingly, I suspect that the one below is too battered for recognition, but just in case... Things are fairly quiet here with the wet and cold weather, but here's hoping.

Hello Martin, the top one is Straw Underwing. The lower one is a bit too far gone to be sure of, but could once have been a Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing.

ReplyDeleteStraw Underwing seems to be a major banana skin. Both of these moths would have revealed more about their identity by looking at hindwings
