Last night's garden trapping produced the best haul of moths so far this year - a grand total of 3. These comprised 1 Early Grey, and 2 Tortricodes alternella (last recorded in the garden in Feb 2015).
Three moths at Westcott on Friday night too (Acleris heracliana, Pale Brindled Beauty & Spring Usher). Tortricodes alternella is a strange one here - most years I get just a single example if it appears at all, but in 2012 I had more than 20 which was rather unexpected. Despite the fact that it is supposed to feed on a variety of trees, locally it seems to have a distinct preference for oak of which there is very little in the immediate area. No sign of it in the garden yet this year but I live in hope...
